The VNS meant a lot to me when I was on relocation with Digital Equipment Corporation, moving from Reading, England to Nashua, New Hampshire, New England from 1986 to 1990. It kept me in touch with my home country. It provided a balance against all the adjustments required to live in a foreign country. When I returned to work in Reading, I took on the role of main news editor from 1990 until I left Digital at the end of 1993.
